Disaster Action Team The chapter's first reponse to a disaster in the local community! Who can fire victims turn to when their home has been destroyed? The American Red Cross. Disaster Action Teams are made up of trained, dedicated, and caring volunteers who respond to disasters in our community such as house fires and offer emergency assistance to the individuals and families affected. Each team is comprised of four members who are on-call after-hours and on the weekends, from Wednesday to Wednesday. Members are equipped with pagers and necessary supplies. Qualifications
Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) As part of our chapter's disaster preparedness, all Emergency Services volunteers need to complete the following forms for enrollment into the National DSHR system. Our National Headquarters has just implemented this requirement and they will be grading the chapter on the number of volunteers enrolled in the DSHR system .We do understand that you are a local volunteer and unless noted would not be asked to be assigned to a three week disaster assignment outside the chapter's jurisdiction. If you have taken training for the chapter we should have a record of your training on file. Please do your best to record your training.
